Day 32 (2nd November)

Imagen
I woke up at 5:20 to leave the house by 6:00 AM. I said goodbye to my partner and her stepmother drove Iris and me to the hotel where our teacher was staying. Once there, I said goodbye to the stepmother and we waited for Lecia to arrive.  When we were all together, we left our suitcases there and took a walk around the city, searching for the small statues known as "Kolodko", that are scattered throughout Budapest.  Afterward, we stopped at a souvenir shop to pick up a few last-minute items and then  at a supermarket, before heading back to the hotel to collect our luggage.   With our bags in tow, we made our way to the metro station and then we caught a bus that went directly to the airport.  We arrived at the airport around 12:45 PM and waited until it was time to board our flight at 3:15 PM. We all woke up at Kyra’s place and made another meal for the Hungarian girls (meatballs with *patatas bravas*). Around 4:00 PM, we said goodbye to Kyra and headed back home to start packing our suitcases.

Day 30 (31st October)

In the morning, we didn’t do anything because we were sleeping. At 3:00 PM, we went to a restaurant to try some famous Hungarian dishes: lángos and goulash (though we all ended up ordering the lángos).  Afterward, we went to buy the last few things we wanted to take back to Spain. We headed to my place (at 6:00 PM) so the three of us could cook some Spanish potato omelets (tortillas de patata) for the Hungarian girls; they turned out quite well.  Finally, we went to sleep at Kyra’s place, where we watched a movie.

Day 29 (30th October)

We didn’t do anything in the morning.   At 2:00 PM, we went to eat at IKEA with Iris and Eliza because we wanted to try the food there.  Afterward, we went to Auchan to buy ingredients for an empanada and the ingredients to make a Spanish potato omelet (tortilla de patata) the following day at Léda’s place.  Finally, once we got home, Iris, Judit (the stepmother) and I made the empanada for dinner, as well as an apple pie.

Day 28 (29th October)

At 1:30 PM, we headed to Normafa (a natural area and mountain park located in the Buda Hills). To get up there, we took a chairlift. We walked around the area and enjoyed a traditional dessert called Rétes.   Afterward, we caught a bus back to the city, and, at 4:00 PM, we stopped for a treat at a place called Dixie (where they sell small boxes containing a scoop of cookie dough and a scoop of ice cream).  Finally, we visited a "ruin bar" called Szimpla Kert and a street food spot called Karaván.

Day 27 (28th October)

Imagen
At 4:00 PM, we went to have pizza at Pizza George (they serve New York-style pizzas), and it was very good.  Afterward, we headed to the Danube to board a boat for a cruise along the river (everything was beautiful).   When that was over, we went home.

Day 26 (27th October)

Imagen
We woke up early because we had to catch a 9 AM bus to Vienna (Austria). Upon arrival, the first thing we did was go shopping along a street famous for its many shops.   Afterward, we stopped for lunch (at 2 PM) at a place called Honu, which sells customizable rice bowls, and ate our food in a park.  Once we finished, we visited St. Stephen's Cathedral and then went for drinks (at 5 PM) at a bar called HIIICH (where you get a free teddy bear with your drinks and desserts). Finally, we headed to an amusement park called Prater (at 6 PM), went on about three rides, and then hurried back to catch the bus to Budapest, which was departing just before 8 PM.
