Day 26 (27th October)



We woke up early because we had to catch a 9 AM bus to Vienna (Austria). Upon arrival, the first thing we did was go shopping along a street famous for its many shops. 

Afterward, we stopped for lunch (at 2 PM) at a place called Honu, which sells customizable rice bowls, and ate our food in a park. 

Once we finished, we visited St. Stephen's Cathedral and then went for drinks (at 5 PM) at a bar called HIIICH (where you get a free teddy bear with your drinks and desserts). Finally, we headed to an amusement park called Prater (at 6 PM), went on about three rides, and then hurried back to catch the bus to Budapest, which was departing just before 8 PM.

Day 1 (2nd October)

We arrived in Budapest at 11:30 AM and went our separate ways. I first met my partner's stepmother  (she is very nice and sweet) and, later, her father. She drove us home, where they gave me a tour of the house, including my room (I love it).  Around 8 p.m., I went with Eliza, her sister, and Iris to Citadella Park. Since it was dark, it was hard to see the way up, but once we reached the top, everything was illuminated (the statues, the bridges, etc.). The views from there were really beautiful, and we could see all of Budapest lit up.  Finally, we took a boat ride on the Danube and passed by Buda Castle.

Day 32 (2nd November)

I woke up at 5:20 to leave the house by 6:00 AM. I said goodbye to my partner and her stepmother drove Iris and me to the hotel where our teacher was staying. Once there, I said goodbye to the stepmother and we waited for Lecia to arrive.  When we were all together, we left our suitcases there and took a walk around the city, searching for the small statues known as "Kolodko", that are scattered throughout Budapest.  Afterward, we stopped at a souvenir shop to pick up a few last-minute items and then  at a supermarket, before heading back to the hotel to collect our luggage.   With our bags in tow, we made our way to the metro station and then we caught a bus that went directly to the airport.  We arrived at the airport around 12:45 PM and waited until it was time to board our flight at 3:15 PM. Day 17 (18th October)

We didn’t do anything that morning because we were at home sleeping.   In the evening (6:00 PM), we went to a supermarket because I wanted to make a cheesecake for my host family, that is the same kind that Léda had loved back in Verín.  At 8:00 PM, we took the cheesecake out of the oven and they tried it (they loved it). Afterward, we went to bed early because we had to get up very early the next day.
